Flats versus Heels

– Posted in: Christian Louboutin feet hurt flats Heel Shields ill fitting shoes

Personally I am not able to wear flats comfortably.  It may be because I really don’t want to wear them anyway so I don’t take the time to ensure the proper fit.  Proper fit is a requirement for any type of shoe.  An ill-fitting shoe is going to hurt no matter what the material, style, etc.

Okay, back to the reason for this post – FLATS.  I received an email (and this picture) from PURE WOW with this tag line – A classic men’s shoe gets reimagined for women.  oxfords for women still look like mens shoesThese still look pretty masculine to me.  I can’t imagine putting on a pair of these and feeling, statuesque and sexy like in a pair of heels.

What’s your take?

As I’ve gotten older, I have to admit I wear (feminine-looking) flats more often than heels. Of course, working from home doesn’t lend many opportunities to dress up, unless I’m going to church or interviewing a client in person — rare happens. You’re right about that picture. No matter how they dress them up, they still look like man-shoes!

I think that jeans look their best with a beautiful heel. In fact, I had a girl friend ask me one day why I always looked so much better in my jeans than she did. I told her – IT IS THE SHOES! Once she checked it out, she agreed. And, to be honest, the only excuse you need to wear heels is it is now time to put on some shoes.

I couldn’t agree more. The oxfords take a little time to get used to but I’ve seen it done right. Although it definitely cannot replace the same sex appeal as walking around in heels, with certain outfits it can give off a very trendy look. Great post!

I love the look of heels but can only wear them for a short amount of time before they begin to hurt. Sometimes I really just want to ‘woman up’ but my feet tell me otherwise. In the heel obsessed era we are in, it seems like the rule is the higher the better. I, on the other hand, am always on the lookout for a comfy pair of FLATS 🙂

Are you sure that you are being fitted correctly for your heels. I know that I wear a different size for different designers. So even though you may wear an 8 in flats, you may need an 8 1/2 for heels. There really is nothing like a beautiful well fitting heel.

Oh wow!! I’m not a really a big fan of these shoes. These shoes should just be worn on men instead of women. This design isn’t really made for women to me. So these shoes are two thumbs down for me.
